World Economic Forum, Davos 2009

Hi Dalai,
Interesting how you didnt mention the Turkish PM and his spat with the Israeli President. That was definitely a highlight of Davos in Europe and the Middle East.
Looking forward to your thoughts on that,
Zeeshan

Zeeshan,
Understood and agreed, that was a strong news story, What is your take on it the short-term implications?

Well, it's clear that Erdogan's standing has become more solidified. He defended the "Turkish Republic" as he referred to it. His fans and well-wishers thronged the airport to greet him. When I last checked, the masses usually only did that for rock stars.

The media says the military dealings both countries partake in will not be affected. If the Turkish public has their way, this will certainly change.

Let's see how things fare.
